FAQs

We understand that getting a tattoo can be a big decision, and you may have some questions before you commit. Check out our FAQ section for answers to some of the most common questions we receive.

  • Can someone draw me a design?
    Designs are drawn for your tattoo a day or two before your appointment but keep in mind you have to book your appointment with a deposit before the designing process begins.
  • How much will my tattoo cost?
    The price of your tattoo with depend on a few factors: artist, size, style and more. To try to determine the estimated cost of your next tattoo please reach out to the artist you wish to book with. Once you send them details they will work with you on determining the price of the piece.
  • How old does someone have to be to get tattooed at your studio?
    Texas has never provided consent forms for minors, anyone wishing to get tattooed must be 18+ with a state issued ID or drivers license. Therefore we will not tattoo anyone under the age of 18, even if a parent or guardian is present.
  • How do I prepare for my tattoo?
    We recommend planning ahead to prepare for your tattoo. Here are some tips you can follow for the best experience: Drink plenty of water leading up to your appointment and avoid alcohol 24 hours before your appointment. Eat a balanced meal before your tattoo and feel free to bring snacks to eat throughout. Get a good nights sleep before your tattoo. Make sure the area you're getting tattooed is clean and ready for the process. Be sure to wear clothes that will allow the area to be easily accessed.
  • Do you take walk-ins?
    While we advertise as a mostly appointment-only studio. We do occasionally, and often, have walk-in availability! Please message us on Facebook or come by the studio and we will be able to let you know if we have walk-in availability that day.
  • What are some important things to share with my artist?
    It is important to share any medical conditions that you have that could potentially have an effect on your health during your appointment. (Ex. epilepsy, low blood sugar, low blood pressure, allergies to inks or creams used in tattooing, allergies to latex, a condition that has you on blood thinners, etc.)
  • What info does my artist need when I reach out with an inquiry?
    Great question! For your artist to best schedule you and get you an estimate, please provide them with the following when you message them about booking an appointment: - Your ideas and any reference photos that you may have. - Placement. A photo of where the tattoo will be going on your body is very helpful when it comes to designing the tattoo that's perfect for you. - How soon are you wanting to get the tattoo done.
  • Do you offer piercings?
    We do not currently have a piercer on staff here at Sorry Mom Tattooing and Fine Arts and therefore do not offer piercings at this time.
  • I want this exact design from Pinterest. Can you do it?
    Not the exact design. Our artists can design you something similar to what you are wanting, but we will not copy another artist's work.
  • Can I bring friends with me to my appointment?
    In order to ensure that each client has an enjoyable experience and to allow our artists to concentrate to give you the highest quality possible, we only allow one guest per client in tattoo areas.
  • How do I schedule an appointment?
